This week we covered screen casting in class. This is something I have gotten a little bit of experience in using in the past couple of semesters. The software that I use is called OBS, and its a free software that is very common among video game streamers. This week I wanted to go over how to upload a file to Dropbox. Dropbox is the program that I am assigned for my technology paper that is due next week and wanted a chance to showcase what I've found out about this program.
Hey Corey,
ReplyDeleteThat was a great recording. You spoke clearly and at a good speed to understand, I wonder how tools like Drop box and Google docs are different enough so that they don’t sue each other for copyright infringement? How much does a program must appear different to be considered a different idea? I know that you can protect your exact code to a program like a recording label keeps the master recordings as proof of ownership. Maybe that could be another topic for another day for your blog?
Thanks,

Thanks for the feedback on the video, I always have a hard time telling if I did a decent job. That's a really good idea, I think I'll do some research and see if I can come up with a post about that. From my current understand it is that if your not copying code or art aspects than its is legal. Game genres and game play aspects are allowed to be copyrighted. Otherwise Doom would be the only game in the first person shooter genre.
